How time flies. At the time of this writing U2MoL is close to being thirteen years old. In internet years, that is Stone Age (or at least Bronze Age). I won’t go inte the details of the history of U2MoL, I’ve already made an abridged history of U2MoL, but I would like explain the existence of U2MoLog.
Traditionally have I found that I prefer to keep opinions away from U2MoL, that is what U2MoL is all about; the facts without opinions, but I have (almost) always wanted to be able to make comments about the site and let others make their voice heard. I couldn’t add a ”old fashioned” blog to my site, due to my ISP, but I could add a page with my comments; a kind of blog, a golb. The U2MoL Golb was born.
As I have moved my entire site to muorji.se I could add a real blog, and now U2MoLog – the U2MoL (b)Log was born. The first posts will be the my first ”golb posts” and this was what I said in the introduction to the golb:
Welcome to the U2MoL Golb, the kind of U2MoL blog! This is not a real (we)blog as such, it lacks the most fundamental feature of a true blog; the possibility to add comments. This is more due to the lack of technical possibilities of the web hosting company–that is, my ISP–then any other reason. You are still more then welcome to send your comments via email, and I pride myself with having responded to every email I’ve received regarding U2MoL since its beginning. The purpose of this ”kind of” blog is to give me a channel to comment on the site itself, but still not mix fact and opinion, i.e. keep the opinions in one walled-in, secure place. To be honest, I don’t quite consider this to be a kind-of-blog either, so I hope I will be able to spare you the tongue-in-cheek, ego-bosting, self-proclaimed humour that is the hallmark of blogs everywhere.
Welcome and don’t hesitate to leave your comments (all comments are subject to moderation to weed out spam and abuse, please keep to the topic, thanks).
